Wedding Recap: Rehearsal

i thought it would be fun to finally blog about the wedding since i havent been blogging about anything else lately (obviously). hope you enjoy the little series.

Wedding Rehearsal:
Our wedding took place at the church i grew up in. So the night before the wedding me, jamie, the parents, the grandparents and the wedding party met up at the church to rehearse what was going on the next day.

For my wedding party, i had my sister, as my matron of honor, my good friend kim, my good friend addie, my future sister in law chelsey, and my future cousin in law tiffany.

tiffany, chelsey, me, addie, deidre (my sister) and kim (from my bridal shower)

jamie had his dad, as his best man, his good friend dustin, his good friend scott, my brother than, and his cousin chad.

my rehearsal bouquet

after we all figured out when to walk and how to walk, the ceremony run thru took place. my good friend heather practiced reading the readings we had picked out. we practiced our vows "unlawfully" to each other. one thing we didnt practice was the kiss. it was a surprise for the next day at the real thing.

after practice we signed the marriage license.

then it was time to eat!

Rehearsal Dinner:

we had our dinner in the church hall and my in laws had it catered with some yummy home style cooked food from a local caterer we like to use. we had brisket, chicken, dressing, green beans, corn, rolls, cobbler and banana pudding. it was so good!

after everyone was good and full,  we gave our "thank you" speech and passed out the presents we had gotten for the wedding party and parents.

jamie got his guys personalized beer mugs. wish i had a picture of them.

and i got mine flip flops for the reception that i embellished, and jewelry (in black) to wear with their dresses.

we all continued to talk with family about the day ahead until everyone began to leave. before i knew it, it was time for us to part ways until the wedding the next day. i was staying at my moms that night.

i made homemade bread.

Five for Friday

1. last night there was a terrible storm that kept me up half the night. first it was super close lighting strikes, then the scariest hail storm EVER! i was too scared to go outside and take pictures, but it was golf ball size hail, and it made a puddle all round my house where it came off the roof. and the yard looked like it had snowed. WTF did all this come from??

2. i do 99.99% of the cooking at home. but i have discovered 2 things the husband can cook. hamburgers and steak. so i think we will have these 2 things each week forever so that he can contribute to the cooking. his steaks come out pretty good. my scalloped potatoes came out pretty good too... i think the cheese saved it.

3. ive only worked out once this week. shame on me! dont i know i have a challenge im suppose to be doing?? but im proud to say that the one time i did run, i shaved 11 seconds off my fastest mile. i know whats helping me get faster. ill share my secret another day :)

4. i still havent taken advantage of this half off frapps at starbucks from 3-5. doesnt starbucks know people work that those times?? maybe they will let me off early today so i can get one. if not, tomorrow will be the day. mmm caramel frappuccino.

5. im so glad its friday. work has been ridiculously busy. im not complaining. just tired.

Happy Friday!

not so moving-it

first, i created a facebook fan page. you should go check it out and like my page :)

alright guys, i have a little confession for you. ive falling behind on my "move-it may" challenge. saturday was jam packed full. and by the time i got home, i had the worst headache ever and crashed on the couch.

i did get in a little movement saturday morning, ill count that as my move-it for the day. right now in my town we have this thing called contraband days. the pirates have come and taken over our downtown. whatever that means. theres rides, anything you could want on a stick. concerts. a 5 mile run. a car show. the list goes on and on.

well my brother participated in the "tour lafitte". a bicycle event. you had a choice of distance you could do, so he did the 27 miles. i met him at the civic center at 7 am to watch him start.

i then headed to my parents because they had a rest point right down the road from my moms. i had to part at a near by church and walk to the spot i needed to be in to be paparazzi.

after we saw him at the rest point. i hopped in the car and headed to the finish back at the civic center to wait for him. i again parked in a near by parking lot that was easy to get in and out of, cuz i sure wasnt parking in the crazy parking with the contraband people. see, all my walking added up to something saturday.

after all that was over i came home and got ready for my friends baby shower. i wish i woulda taken a picture with her, i forgot! but ill share later the present i made for her. after that we went to eat with my bro then i came home n crashed.

on sunday i was determined to be somewhat lazy. and i succeeded. however, i got called into work (no this isnt a normal thing, we had a project that needed to be done by morning) so i went up to work from 4-8:30, so my time slot i was gonna use to go on a 2 mile walk turned into work time. sighhhh.

warning! if you are a boy, do not continue reading!!

yesterday morning, i woke up at 5:50 like i had been to do my morning workout, only to find out i had started my "monthly cycle". im seriously over dramatic when it comes to this. lets just say i lasted 5 mins of the workout and thru in the towel and didnt even attempt to workout at all the rest of the day. the first day is the worst and i dont even wanna be messed it. drama queen. i know.

but today is a new day, and i plan to atleast get my mile or 2 walk/ run in tonight. i promise!! we gotta move-it, move-it!

happy tuesday!

Move-it May

i work a 8-5 desk job. the only times i get up are to go to the printer, the bathroom, and to my car. and we have a small office, so its not like im walking across a building. and when i get home i usually cook dinner and crash on the couch til bedtime.

even though im exercising in the mornings, i feel like i need to get some extra movement in since i sit on my butt all day. and even though im a few days late.. i have challenged myself to move-it may.

for the rest of may i plan to move, 1 mile a day. whether its walking, running, biking, crawling, skipping, hopping, or skating. just one mile. and itll only take me about 15 mins max. so its not taking a big chunk out of my day.

ill keep you updated. but how about you join me? we could all use to move a little more!

Pork Meatball Subs

whenever we go to subway for a meal, i always wanna get the meatball sub. but i always end up gettin one of the more healthier options. but sometimes ya just gotta cave and get what ya want.

but i wanted these to be different instead of the normal beef meatballs. and weve already had Jessica's chicken meatball hoagies before (which are super yummy). so my only option left was pork (i know theres also turkey, but i classify that is my "ground beef" most of the time). weve used ground pork in other stuff and it gave a pretty good flavor. and ground pork is pretty cheap to get. im on a budget people!

Pork Meatball Subs
makes 6

Ingredients:
1 lb ground pork meat
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
1 tbsp italian seasoning
flour
15 oz jar of spaghetti or tomato sauce (i used ragu)
6 hoagie buns
shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

1. Mix ground pork, bread crumbs, egg, and italian seasoning together. Form into 9 meatballs, coat with flour, and place on a baking pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 mins or until cooked.

2. Warm up sauce in a pot. When meatballs are done, place them in the sauce and cook for another 10 mins on low heat so the meatballs can get all saucy.

3. Half the meatballs and place on the hoagie bun. Top with extra sauce and mozzarella cheese. And enjoy! :)
